The Nutritional Potato

Our core product, the mighty potato, is a nutritional powerhouse. Just one potato has twice as much potassium as in one banana, and as much protein as you would get from drinking a half cup of milk. A medium potato contains about half the recommended daily intake of vitamin C!

As you can see, a skin-on potato no bigger than a computer mouse is an excellent source of protein, potassium, vitamin C, some B vitamins, iron and fibre.  Click here to read nutritional facts about potatoes.

The Most Efficient Nutrition

In 2008, the United Nations declared “the potato should be a major component in strategies aimed at providing nutritious food for the poor and hungry". Rich in carbohydrates and vitamin C and with the highest protein content of any root or tuber, the potato yields more nutritious food more quickly on less land and in harsher climates than any other major crop.
