In addition to the intended acquisition of a division of Royaan Foods, Van Geloven – which was acquired by McCain Foods earlier this year – is also acquiring Dutch company Swinkels Snackery & Bakery, based in Cuijk, The Netherlands.
Swinkels is a leading manufacturer of deep-fried cheese snacks and puff-pastry products. The company employs 24 people and has expanded rapidly in recent years, which is partly due to the growing popularity of the deep-fried cheese brand Souflesse on the Dutch food-service market.
This acquisition will complement and further strengthen Van Geloven’s product portfolio.
